SOWK 3330 Introduction to Social Work Research

Semester Credit Hours: (3) sch

This course is designed to provide students with the fundamental skills to evaluate research studies critically, apply research findings to practice, and understand social work research as an integral part of informed practice. The course addresses how to conduct research to evaluate practice, quantitative and qualitative methods, and research ethics, with particular attention to the role of research with populations-at-risk, social and economic justice, and cultural diversity. Critical thinking and writing skills will be emphasized. Prerequisite(s): PSYC 3301  or SOCI 3317 .
