Radiation and Radiation Protection begins with an introduction to radiation physics and terminology, the properties of radioactive materials, sources of ionizing radiation, and the types of ionizing radiation. The basic physical interaction of radiation with matter is covered, with applications to the theory of radiation detection, measurement, and dosimetry.
