Administered by the Department of Curriculum and Instruction within the College of Education.  The minor in Bilingual/E.S.L. provides students the opportunity to develop an understanding of the role of language in society, how an individual functions in a society where his/her primary language is not the primary language of the society, and how a second language is acquired.  This understanding is useful for those working in a bilingual or E.S.L. classroom, workplace or social service organization.  It also provides the individual with insight into the bilingual society of the Southwestern United States.
